Title: Quality ply
Post by: MCR on April 10, 2009, 10:59:47 am
Could anybody give me a source for quality ply (marine perhaps) in the North east of England?
I need a full sheet or a min. of 4ft6"x4ft. 3mm would be perfect (I know that 4mm is the common standard).
I am building a large clinker hull and its the only reasonable material I can think to use for the planks.

hi ya there MCR

or Mark  :-))

give Whitburn Model shop a ring - they have ordered modelling plywood in for me 8 x 4 sheets - at 4mm thick and also 6mm thick.   Not bad prices, but, it does take a week for them to get the stock in for you - its Whitburn Hobbies - telephone: 0191 529 55 99  :-)) :-)) good to deal with - they deal mainly with cars and planes, but have some modelling stuff in for boats and a good set of lads.
