Post by: kiwi96 on April 20, 2009, 06:38:38 am
Hi all.
Just found this motor. I was wondering if some motor GURU here  could let me know if it suitable to poswer my latest model. The model is th Richelieu battleship in 1/96. Approx 2.4m long and est weight of 45 to 50 kg. Will install 4x of these if suitable and power frrom 2x 12v7amphr batteries.

Look up spec.pdf to see all about it.
All comments much appreciated.
Cheers, Adrian.

In one word........ No. the motor is only revving at 160 rpm, at that speed your model won't move much, if at all.....The MMB 900 motors I sell will work fine on 12 volts in that size of model.

My Richelieu has 4x Graupner Speed 500E motors in her.
I havent had her in the water to test how they perform YET but bench testing showed they should be good enough to push her along at a decent pace.

If they dont work for me then i shall be on the phone to Mark to replace them for his much rated MMB 900 motors.

The motors are fine but the gearbox reduction is too much.
Car window or the smaller blower moters will probably give you the correct rpm and torque.
