Title: Motor & Gearbox for Radar Scanner
Post by: CERES on May 19, 2009, 10:02:43 am
 :-)Hello,
I have now received the above unit from ACTion via my club and in order for me to get it fitted & working I need some info.
Those of you that have this motor fitted know of the very thin and delicate motor wires are and as i shall be using a Nicad 1.2V Cell I do not know of any connectors to use for this single AA Battery, where to get a switch and what "Gauge" of addintional wire I require.
Ideally I suppose I would need a single battery holder and small plug-in connectors.

As usual any help will be very much appreciated.

One after thought "Do these so called Learning Curve ever end"??.
Regards,
.
Ceres.

A trip to you local Maplin ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/ ) should get you the AA battery holder and a small switch.  You can also get thin insulated wire from there.  Rather than plug-in connectors I would go for extending the existing wires by soldering the new on, and using some heat-shrink sleeving to insulate.
