What sized plastic prop for a 540 motor?
Will be 3 bladed one of these, or I'm very tempted to get a 5 blade for the hell of it, because it will look nice...

Also, does anyone make a very small water pump?

Won't be tugging anything, just looking nice ;)
Tuned 540 motor on 6 cells.

Taht size should be OK personally I would go for the Brass prop

So would I, if I had any money, spent it on the hull and propshaft...
Which size should be ok? Will the pretty 40mm 5 blader be ok?

Andy
Deep inside you know that it depends on the load - ie the pitch of the prop
I'm running a s600 (550) with 40mm 2-blader on 8 cells and the motor is not in the slightest bothered - I would say give her a try but it might prefer a low gear ratio like an olympus or 2:1 if its a tuned buggy motor

I've ordered both the 40mm five blader and a 40mm 3 blader, and we'll see how we get on :-))
Haven't even got the hull yet, it went in the post today apparently. I have all of the kit I need lined up for it on my bench.

On a serious note now,
If anyone else reading this post, about brass props.
If you get them of ebay, unless its a reputable dealer, dont buy.
I ordered 2 and they were broken when i received them, they were soldered and not cast.
Just to save you money

On Bender ..my little tug ..i used a brass 4_blade Rivabo 45mm
550 can motor ..dual 7.2 volt Nimh packs in paralell

I've ended up with a VERY hot 540 motor (just because I had it) and a 5 blade 40mm. It reaches scale speed with a couple of clicks on the trim lever, aquaplanes at half throttle and can pull me in our very heavy rescue boat. All from a 24" tug...
