Title: Walk a Mile in Another Man's Shoes....
Post by: Martin (Admin) on June 03, 2009, 01:53:26 am

No forum member should have to put up with any personal rants on this forum, that NOT what it's for.

I've said it time and time again, and I repeating it again now,

I HATE  DISRESPECT IN ANY FORM.
WE WILL NOT TOLERATE BERATING OF OTHER FORUM MEMBERS.

Running this forum takes hours and hours every day by myself, the moderators, a number of other unsung heroes and it would
be nothing without your contributions each and every day. To have members coming to me saying they "can't bear to see the way
the deteriorating", is a real personal defeat for me. A number of former active members no long contribute partially in fear of being
shouted down by people that know less then they do in a particular field.

WELL ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Don't like that rules leave.
Don't like the way I / the moderators run this forum leave.
Don't  think you have to show mutual respect, leave.

This is a family centric forum built on mutual respect, encouragement and sharing of mutual knowledge. If you have a contra
point of view, you don't have to shout someone else down to make your point I don't want to have to deal with petulant
behaviour from grown adults and why should ! have to? This is not a spit-&-sawdust salon in the Wild West! Most of can
disagree but have learnt not to be disagreeable. Stick to the ethos of the forum and we'll all benefit from it. As someone
said to me a while ago, "membership of this forum is a privilege, not a human right!"

Rant over. Now who has something interesting to say about model boats.

     Martin - Admin.

Some people may hate to admit it, but you can never know everything, and you learn all the time, this forum helps in gaining that knowlage faster than would normaly happen.  Now it may not be right, it may not be the way 90% of others would do it, but who cares, its the way you do it, then you learn from the way you do it, then you share you knowlage with others (the circle is complete)

Any one who argues that the method is wrong, or that so and so is a numptie, should not put finger to keyboard. Think what you like, but keep it that way

Model Boating is and always will be the first and last words-----

You keep up the good work Martin, because we all really do appreicate it

And to the few moaners------------------don't order a hat----------

 :-)) :-))

I said it beforehand I will say it again "it's not what you say a lot of the time, it's how you say it". You can have an opinion, but at least keep it civil and couch it in terms which do not offend people. What you write here can be viewed by the world, you may not care what the world thinks but it's Martins site so you should care what he thinks.
Never type in anger, if someone has written something personally offensive which is directed toward another, the best thing to do is for everyone else to fail to respond, that way, the posters offensive remarks are the last post on that thread and the sheer lack of response by everyone sends out a very clear signal. It may even remain as a permanent embarassment to the poster.... and the whole world can see it!.
Great site Martin.... keep it up.
BTW, on the subject of boats..........when's that Akula goin to hit the water then?

No idea what brought this on but..... I am a member of a number of forums, some of which are predominately younger, and am amazed at the amount of "bad blood" Mayhem seems to generate compared to the others. Is it an age-related problem?
I guess people just need to chill out and not take life too seriously, every has an opinion and the right to express it. Disagreements can and will occur but as long as they are civil it becomes an exchange of ideas and can only help people improve their skills.
Same as any forum (whether on the web or in real life) people say what works for them. It might not be the best way, it might not be the quickest way and it may not be the "right" way, it is "their" way (yep I can hear Frank as well!!) Respect others and their views, write and reply in a civil manner and maybe, just maybe we can all just get along......... or is that an impossible dream?

This was not an excuse to start up yet another argument, this was Martin simply stating how he wants his forum run and a number of subsequent posts on here indicate that the original message has not been understood.

This thread will now be locked and I would very strongly recommend that another is not started to continue the same arguments.
