Hi Guys
Does any of the Aussie boaties know much about the St George Model Boat Club? Ive had 2 people in the last month (Cbr900 and my boat dealer) tell me where it is and what type of water it operates in. Just like to know what boat classes and other info that you might have. :)
Cheers ;D

Josh,
Try ringing R2 Marine I am sure he will be able to fill you in on the Club and also advise you better of other clubs in the area, I mentioned them but have not lived in Sydney for over thirty years....

Thanks Roy,
I have rung Randall at R2 Marine, Im buying my tugboat off him, and was just wondering if theres anymore info out there, other that what Randall told me. He told me about the water there, that they sometimes have night sailing etc. He also told me about two other colubs in Sydney, but St George looks like the best - only problem is it an absolute country mile to there!
Cheers
Josh
P.S, Has anyone seen my Wyeforce model - Im getting abit impatient!! ;)

What district are you from, west suburbs or northern, buy the sound of it....

Im from the North Western Suburbs of Sydney, near Hornsby. Its not that far to get to St George - its just the fuel prices at the moment >:( . I'll be driving down that way to pick up my Tugboat when it arrives, so I might try and go down on a Sunday to pick it up and can see the club. There is apparently another club close by to me, at Norwest, but I think they only cater for sailing boats.
Cheers

I would suggest you call into any of the model shops that are reasonable close to you and ask them, surely they should be able to point you in the right direction....

What are the fuel prices in Australia? I've just got back from the US where I paid $2.30 ish (£1.21) which they seem to think is a lot. Here in UK I pay £3.80 - £3.90.
Just interested (not thinking of emigrating - just yet ;D )

Doug,
Down here in Tassie at the moment we are paying, $1.08 cents per litre, but it does fluctuate a few cents either way...
Roy

CBR900,
Thanks for that. I was talking per gallon, so I guess you pay approximately just over half what we pay. Ho hum.
Cheers

Is it not 4.5 litres per gallon, which would make it close enough to 4 pound 86 p.....

Just to avoid any doubt, were you quoting Aus$, which my info says 2.34 to the £ sterling or had you already done the conversion? That would indeed work out at nearly a fiver a gallon (I feel faint :o )

Roy
About £3.78 a gallon in UK . £ 2.30ish in Oz

And the UK price has gone down recently too..... :-[

Doug and all you other people, my mistake I changed it to Aussie Dollars a gallon but typed pounds, so it is $4.86 per gallon, so what would that be in pounds, and therefore who is paying the most....

Roy
I've already told you ,See above.

Still realistically it is still the cheapest part of a motor vehicle as you only pay for what you use, use it a lot pat a lot, use it a little pay a little, That is another reason why I prefer the bike is it a lot cheaper than the car, as well as more fun....
