I would suggest exporting them to a program like Microsoft Office, or whatever your word processor software is. I have done this with the email address book so see no reason why it will not work for the email's..

Copy and paste into word, that way you can save a whole lot of e-mails on one page (even putting headings in)
-
go to file then export them to a file, or what I do is go to inbox right click you will get something like this
C:\Documents and Settings\NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{D610B62D-A4E3-4FE0-A4BD-E595F614E24D}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Inbox.dbx
where NAME is that will be relevent to your pc set up follow the address and save the files you want, I do it as a back up for all emails sent etc and if I want a copy on anothere pc I just replace the files with the ones that have the messages I wanted to keep, it is essayer if you save them to a single file that you have made and just save that one

Just one question first
Do you read your mail on-line? (in that you don't actually download your mail but log on and read rather than have an *off line reader* like outlook/outlook express etc)

I use Outlook Express and have created a series of Local Folders for various subjects. I just drag an email into the appropriate one, where it stays until I decide to have a clear-out - if ever!

That is why I asked if craftysod is using an on or off line reader if he is using an on-line reader then the file route you use will be of little use to him and he will possibly have to set up an account in say hotmail to "down load" the mails he wants to keep
My wife used to use an on-line reader from a well known shopping company that likes to give you a little help then when she changed to a different ISP ALL the mails she had were lost when the account closed.

Thanks for the replies.
I just open them up in hotmail, then move to my appropriate folders.
For some reason this computer is having a problem with copy and paste.
It would be nice to open them up and have a save button,to my hardrive

On mine it says page/save as/
will try that thanks

Or you could go the export route which if you have lads of mail to do then it is easier just follow the prompts
-
It keeps saying this file cannot be saved,so a prob in my comp somewhere.
why oh why did i go vista, going to put xp pro back on,lots easier

don't understand why your system is saying you cant save or export to file
have you thought of setting up another email address forwarding some mails to that then save or export to file. to check its your OS or system try logging into your account from a different computer and then try to save / export to file (if the trial comp has burning rom your half way to where you want to go)
if that way works then think of downgrading to XP or even delete the hotmail from windows and reinstall

I just put them into the Drafts Folder, anything in there is to be kept, looked at later or needs to be answered.
Alternatively for long storage I use a few memory sticks like folders, all labelled and on the decktop as shortcuts. If the computer goes down I still have them. Just drag them there from the mailbox.. :-))
