This is a length of timber I collected off the beach about ten years ago, it's been in the garden ever since.
The other week I thought I sand one face and put a bit of varnish on it. It came up brilliantly.
After ten years in the garden and who knows how long in the Irish sea, before that may part of a ship of the line,
Who knows... what stories could it tell.
It's about 9 inches square by four foot long.

Nice to see. Probably part of an old jetty or (coal) staithe rather than a ship. Still worth having though. BY.

Funny you should mention Jarrah, I have a number of pieces of furniture made from it, one is the dining table and another is a unit under the TV hiding all the DVD gubins etc.
The wood is actually reclaimed from railway sleepers imported from South Africa, who are currently going through a program of removing them and replacing them with concrete ones. I have often wondered just where the sleepers were located that I now eat my dinner off. The furniture is therefore all very individual and even, in the case of the TV unit, made to order by a firm luckily very local to me.
I'm with you guys and love wood with a passion.

Wood is great, with a little imagination a lot of things can be created,
I made this a few years ago from a neighbours cut down cherry tree
