White spirit should be okay, depends on paint though.
-
White spirit will be ok as craftsod has said depends on the paint, try it where it will not be seen if it all goes wrong
-
WD40 or RP7 spray dewatering fluid will remove the tape & residue without damaging any other surfaces......... :-)) {-) Derek

Meths will do the trick removed hundreds of sticky things from typewriters, word processors, computers in my days.
Don't rub too hard.
-
3M do an Adhesive Remover spray as well. If the tape has been on the hull for a long time, donot be surprised if there is a little difference in the paint under the tape, compared to the paint around it.

if all else fails try liquid lighter fuel, its often used in graphics studios and stuff to clean and remove residues on drawing equipment, drawing boards, rulers and stuff, it evapourates and leaves no oily mess
-
Hi all, thanks for the feedback, used meths and now 100% ok,

Nail Varnish remover works for removing sticky stuff too but check the substrate for suitability!
