Title: HMS Javelin plans
Post by: TSpettel on July 31, 2009, 09:37:07 am
I am in the process of mounting my prop shaft housings to the hull. on the plans there is a view looking foward from the stern. this view
calls for the props to be mounted (  40 crs. ) from center to center.  I know what mm is as well cm is but I dont know what crs. is??
could any of you gents tell me what crs. is?
   Thanks

Could it be a misprint for cms ??

If all the other dimensions are stated in mm. it may mean 40mm between centres. (crs)

Alternately, you could measure the distance between centres on the drawing and scale it up to suit the model.

Hope this helps.

yes I did put the ruler to the drawings and it did measure from center to center 40mm but didn't know if I should trust the drawings
because of shrinkage and all. It seems I have a little leeway on were to mount the prop shaft housing/supports, I have been using
Christopher Langtree's "The Kelly's" as reference and something's are a little off but for the most part I love the kit!  :-))
Have any of you guys built any of Dean's Marine DD's? would like to hear any tips you might have.
  thanks guys
