Hi everyone. This is my first posting here, but I have been following this forum for a while.
The thing is I need some help with selecting a suitable motor for my boat.
It's an old boat, got it sometime in the mid 70's from a friend of my father, since then I've been working on it of and on.
When I first got it it had a .09 IC engine in it, that didn't work, and still don't. <*<
So.. What to put in it instead? I want to go the electric route, preferably brushed (being unemployed doesn't leave much money for "toys") Don't need warpspeed, don't thing that would be scale.
Basic info. (empty boat)
Length : 80cm / 31,5"
With : 24cm / 9,3"
Weight: 1150g / 2,6Lb
Prop : 1,5" 2 blade

Hope this info and the pics will help.
PS. Does anybody know or recognise the boat type? I think it was called Flamingo. DS

One of MMB's 900's will have her going nicely.
They are a motor that will power along nicely on 12 volts, or go ballistic on 24 volts.
Check out the Traders section for a Perkassa video.

Thank you very much for the advice, but what size ESC does it need, not much information on the website. {:-{

It depends on what voltage you are going to run her on.
On 12 volts anything up to 20 amps will be fine, just add a 15 amp fuse.

After looking around a bit i wonder if the 900 isn't a bit too big, it's close to 600grams.... :o
I wonder if this one won't be enough to keep it running at "scale"speed. About the same rpm as the 900 and sutiable for up to 50mm prop.
