Hi all. Does anyone Bismarcks official prefix? Hood was HMS, Titanic was RMS etc. What was Bismarcks? Im getting a plaque made for my wall above my model when she is completed and need to know. Thanks

Hilux ...pretty sure she was SMS Bismarck............but not sure if that is related to the current SMS steel industry manufacturing group............Derek

mmmm. I suppose it all depends on which Bismarck we are talking about O0 ..........Derek
....this site also suggest as SMS Bismarck as of 1941............but also notes the Class as DEU Bismark

It changed to DKM from SMS when the German navy became the Kreigsmarine in 1935.

Did'nt they stop using Sein Majestats Schiff (HMS) in 1918 when they booted the Kaiser out?
