Title: Puffer Springer
Post by: ronkh on August 21, 2009, 10:03:05 pm
Hello and here I go!

I have not been on this site for a while (apart from a couple of small remarks), due to personal reasons.
I am not after sympathy but suffice to say that my wife - Sarah - passed away on the 25th of July after a very short illness aged 52. (We had 30 wonderful years together).
I have now decided that I should have a fresh start, and so here are a couple of things that I have been doing to pass the time.
The dredger I started quite a few months ago but the title of this topic is the (obvious) main reason for this post.
I have always liked trains, (as did my wife)  Puffer boats and lately, Springers.
This topic is a combination of the three but with a twist!! Puffer boat. Train. Springer. (Think about it)!!
They are not really in any sort of order but you should see what I have been up to in my quiet moments,
I hope like the results.

PS. They are not in anyway finished yet but should be in a couple of months when I hope to have it/them on the water.
I will post some more pictures of the Puffer /Train/Springer as time allows so please be patient.

Ron.

Couple more.
Dont forget; They are not in any particular order. They are just for fun!
Enjoy them as I have enjoyed making them.

Ron.

Thank you Martin.

The train is a loose interpretation from one of the cartoons of the late but great Roland Emett. Look up on Google.

Time is a healer as you say.

Am I really bad!!!!!

Ron.

Hy Ron
Just been reading your post, I know what you are going through mate, I lost my first wife when she was 43, that was 15 years ago and it still hurts.
I was lucky, I met another lady who is now my wife, without her and my model boating I would not like to say where I would be, or even if I would still be here, your springers are looking really good, keep it all going mate.

Ron
Sorry to hear of your loss, loosing any one very dear hurts a lot but as they say "time is a healer" but slowly.
Your puffer springer like Martin has said very much in the Ivor the Engine mode, the rest of your springer fleet is brilliant hope to see some on the water shots.

My sympathy is with you Ron--

Great work on the Springers, it just shows that these little craft know no limitations on superstructure, great stuff  :-)) :-))

Ron, I'd like to offer you my deepest sympathy at your recent loss, I guess it hurts like hell. I lost my wife, but not in that way...she's still very much alive and kicking, I just lost her, and that was bad enough.

Keep your chin up mate, I wish you the best of luck for the future.

Rich

Good to see you back Ron.  When I saw "puffer" I thought you`d been reading the Para Handy Tales.  It`ll have to be called a choo-choo to avoid confusion. O0  Any plans for a couple or three wagons and a guard`s van instead of barges?
