hi there after 2 years of spare time and a lot of swearing i have finally finished my model of the canadian coast guard icebreaker terry fox it,s a fare sized boat 70"long by 15"and the photos are of its first  time on the water last sunday.hope you like the photos .neal

very nice looking ice breaker, its a fair size aswell  ;D

helicopter looks a bit out of place on the back end but thats just me.

nice lloking build tho, whats on the bench next?

Lovely looking boat. The time spent was sure worth it. You made it look superb.

What sort of construction is it please. Was it difficult ?    ;D

Nice job, ice breakers have come on a bit since I was in the Gulf of St Lawrence. There was a program on Discovery channel last nite about Canadian icebreakers, 'how do they do that', they may repeat it who knows?

hi the construction is  a grp hull the superstructure is 1.5mm ply the deck is 4mm ply and the cranes and winch on the rear are plasticard.its the first model i have made with just the hull plans and photos it was not too difficult to make how it took so long i dont know.
i will will keep my eyes open for that icebreaker show hope they repeat cheers .Neal

Winter now here...in some area's anyway! You'll be able to see if the model can break the ice ;D

hi the model weighs about 110 pounds so should do the job cant wait for the ice

Im considering one for a future project..probably Ann Harvey.and according to Dad,uncles and before she passed,my Grandmother.. a relative.

Terry Fox somw times makes an apperance in this neck of the woods,I'll watch around the bay ..see if I can get a few pics of her..
