Post by: Mark47 on September 09, 2009, 06:24:53 PM
Does anyone have a cheap website link to this stuff.?I litrally need about 2-3" squared of tape or a 12ml tinlet of paint. I want it for finishing touches of my lifeboat, when I'm at that stage. :-))

Thanks for your help.

Hi - If it's just a tiny 4" square of white reflective self adhesive vinyl you're after send me a pm with your address & I'll stick some in the post tomorrow foc  :-))

Alternatively - your local sign shop will probably have offcuts.

Hope this helps

If Vintage cannot provide what you want,i can cut up an old hi vis jacket,so you can stick the reflective part on,if that helps

Hi, i might have just the thing!

It's made of the same material as on reflective high visibility clothing. It's self adhesive and can be cut into whatever size required. If you think it'll do the job then PM me with your address and i'll send you a piece.

Wow! What a fantastic response from all of you. O0

If you all have not already noticed. I'm Scottish and tightness is bread into us.  O0

I did not want to buy a 10 metre roll of this stuff for detailing life belts and things along those lines.

Thanks to everyone for their help and generous offers. O0 :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

This is why it pays to be a Mayhem member. Even if it's just to get info on where you can get supplies.

A typical tightwad.

If everyone sends him a 1" length of the stuff, he can stick them all together and make up his own 10 mtr roll. :}

But getting back to the original request, but a different colour.

I used to use Decatrim for the dayglo orange bits. It is used by the aircraft lads for hi visibility trim. Fairly cheap, comes in a big sheet and is only as thick as a good coat of paint, and is self adhesive. It definitely looks a lot better than if you hand paint largish stripes on the hull of a ship. They might also do the 'white' version as well.
