Admin:    Obviously this is a joke - Fuses should never be replaced with anything but
the correct rated  and type of fuse to ensure maximum safety.

Does that cover cigarette paper wrapped around the original blown fuse.

Many years ago before Health and Safety when i worked at a warehouse we used to load russian peat in 50kg bags onto trailers , the problem was that the peat was packed dry and would absorb any water/moisture so most of the bails were well in excess of 100kg .
These were loaded by conveyor and the weight of the bails woud reguarly blow the fuse so it was common practice to fit a six inch nail in the fuse holder when we started work and put the original fuse back in when done .
Well it worked  :-)) .
