No buttons on it at all?
It may then be a self setting esc, i.e. it sets it self up every time you connect a battery to it.
Some just detect neutral, some you have to move the the throttle stick from full backwards to full forwards before it works.....

What type of ESC is it Paul?

sea hunter 25 ... Rpmax?

One of those came with my boat when I bought it secondhand. It didn't need any setting up, but it does have different 'forward' and 'reverse' speeds. When I first wired mine up the boat went much quicker in reverse than forwards. :embarrassed:

Reverse the motor leads?

.....and do a transmitter "servo-reverse"
Somebody has already photographed and pasted the instructions....http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1820.0 (http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1820.0).....then they got removed.
It made reference to switching on with the throttle in neutral then pushing the throttle fully forward then back to neutral.Futaba sets had to have the reverse function set to "reverse"
