That is very impressive. It really looks the business with the mist and angle of photography. If mine looks 1/2 as good as that when completed ill be a happy chap!

Gents....I too initially was amazed at the beauty & apparent reality the .jpgs portrayed of Mary Anne.......especially HNI 4297
However, without sounding skeptical & with the greatest respect for the photographer......I do not understand how the horizontal GREEN light component of the STDB navigation light...can be transferred vertically down & shown as a vertical reflection in line & so close to the vessel?
I am sure a compentent member with a photographic or science background can correct me here & ...... will come back with the answer - Derek %%

The slight ripple is reflecting light from a variety of angles towards the eye, hence the extended reflection from a near-point source.

There's no serious photoshopping involved here, just some noise removal and added vignetting in Adobe Lightroom.
Same effect can be seen in this pic of my Drumbeat (more pics here (http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=12043.0)).

Some really beautiful and atmospheric photos there - in many of them it's hard to tell that you're looking at a model rather than a real vessel (which owes as much to the excellent detailing + rigging of the model as it does to the weather + lighting conditions!)

The vastness of this site and not being able to navigate it as well as I'd like is to blame (as much as anything else) for my belated words here.
These are perhaps the most stunning photos of any model boat I have ever seen. The experience was and is jaw-dropping. Your modelling skills, sir, and photographic skill are so top notch that it is indeed difficult to determine if it is a real vessel or not. You also chose when and where to take these glorious shots so that is definitely indicative of your impeccable presence of mind.
I have a classic Mary Ann kit waiting in the wings so this is the sort of inspiration I was looking for.

Harrin great photo/s how deep is the lake ours is 34 foot deep and at -4 we have ice on the surface Bill.......
