Title: Type 22 colour for hull and deck
Post by: reefrich on October 14, 2009, 03:55:48 pm
Hi guys

I am about to paint my 1988 version of HMS cornwall, a batch 3 Type 22. Has anyone got any suggestions for the paint colour and type, and where the best place to get it from is?

Also in the hull the same colour as the deck, as I have seen different models depicting different things.

cheers

White Ensign models produce modern RN colours in their colourcoats range (www.whiteensignmodels.com). Fleetscale (www.fleetscale.co.uk) also stock paint, it is ex-MOD paint in the exact RN colours.

Deck should be Dark Grey - nearest I found was Tamiya Panzer grey, the real thing was a 2 pack paint with a textured finish, but to fine to replicate at our scales.

bolloards, fairleads etc are grey NOT white.
