Title: Supertug Fotiy Krylov
Post by: kappie on October 20, 2009, 01:36:37 pm
Since some times now, i am try to built  the Fotiy Krylov the strongest tug of the worldin scale 1:100.  built in 1978 for the Russian Navy with her sister the Nilcolay Chiker.

since some years i was looking for plans to built this tug and fore info and Photoes. I got many Photoes of Tsavliris and further serving on the internet. when i got everything so i started to built it.

(http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/35701/2171088570099737881S600x600Q85.jpg) (http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2171088570099737881Qbmggt)

Later the two tugs were in management by Tsavliris in Greece.

Now since 2 years the tugs are back to Russian Navy

This was the first attempt for making a hull. Is the first time i try to make such a big one. Mostly the are small and waterline.

(http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/44355/2137572680099737881S600x600Q85.jpg) (http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2137572680099737881ETRuoK)

But it was not what i wanted. So i make a new hull and that will be wood.

The accomodation will be make by cardboard and the wheelhouse is a salatlid

YES THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A TUG. ok it is big and also had a hospital. Both tugs are now some kind of escort tugs by manouverings form the russian navy.

The Nicolay Chiker works from Moermansk and the Fotiy Krylov from Vladiwostock.

the cranes and davits and winches are made by my self. It is first of all cheap and i got the one a like.

Hallo everybody,

Since many problems with making a hull for mine fotiy krylov i  had make a hull in germany.

This ship was mine first and difficult to make for a starter. But it is suche a beautifull ship.

So i started again with building my super tug.

The only thing what is old is the mast, davits and cranes. Everything is now made out of plastik

Here is in photoes the building of the tug.

(http://inlinethumb45.webshots.com/47852/2789884470099737881S600x600Q85.jpg) (http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2789884470099737881vKTwAp)

i put on the cardboard version to like how it likes.

Than i started again end rebuild the cardboard in plastic

That is some great work. I have real admiration for the scratchbuilding work, it's not easy but is well worth it.
Keep it up.

thanks for the reply.

I like it working so small in scale. I had also built for Svitzer a model of the Ievoli Black our coastguard vessel in 1:250
(http://inlinethumb41.webshots.com/47144/2134894760099737881S600x600Q85.jpg) (http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2134894760099737881tvYVmR)

This ship is 1:100 correct Snipah. I like this scale not so big. A friend of my is building this tug in 1:50 than it will be 2 meters !!!!!!

The building is easier because everything is 2 times bigger.

Because it is not finished i had a problem at the club. I had no ship to sail with
So i had buy a tugboat Southampton.

I didn't like the model so i built a New accommodaiton and wheelhouse.
I made the ZEELAND of Wijsmuller

So this week i made the 2 funnels black and also some pipes at it.

My wife is diabetis and had to take some shots a day. The needles are covert with some kind of protectos.

These protectors, i have cut them and glue them at the funnels.

I like your small model - but my hands won't work on small things - I am just too clumsy O0

today i have worked at the workingdeck

I placed strokes of plastic and made some holes in it for the towing wires. Where the came outside i placed rollers.

Further i placed some hatches and doors and under the place where the lines come outside i made the connections for the fire-hoses.

Today, i have the cranes placed at the vessel.

2 at the back. I had first placed a tube which is a little bigger than the of the cranes.

So they can put inside the other. I had do that because a want to change cranes. I had olso built one which has his arm in the air, like he is working.

Between the 2 cranes is in real a connection where the towing line will go over. So there for i placed the tubes and placed the other in it and i can change crane.
