Hi all,
I just finished my Clyde Puffer and she made her maiden voyage today. As you can see, I christened the boat in the name of my Scottish friend Wullie “Oor Wullie.”
The electrical equipment , including the Rx, runs on 6V 7AH Battery. The motor is a small Graupner monoperm super which is adequate for scale speed. For the navigation lights I used flickering LED’s removed from small flickering candles (bought at the corner store) . The Graupner smoke generator is still on back order (as usual). I know that all of you like pictures and I hope you enjoy them.

Hy Wilhelm
Thats a cracking job on the Puffer, I have one ready for a winter project, and hope it turns out half as good as yours :-))

Lovely finish. You should be proud of her. Great model

Very well built, you should be proud to have made it. Nice to see a good boat isn't ruined by a rubish boatstand either.

A superb example of this model. Very tidy and nice attention to detail. I like the wooden spreaders on the mast shrouds, very nice touch. Also as has already been mentioned the pictures a excellent as well with the low angle ones being particularly affective.
Great job and many thanks for sharing the model with us.

I saw her at the Warwick show and she looks even better. Do you know, I might have a go now I've seen her. O0 Well done again. (Wullie should be proud)

Hi Ken,
I bought my kit on ebay. At the time I was waiting for the new release of the Yorkshireman (and still do) so I thought this might be a nice model to bridge the wait. What an eye opener, this is a very nice kit. If you get one I wish you good luck and you won't even need a couple of helpers to carry it to the pond (like your St. Nectan). O0 ok2

Another phenomenal job in a phenomenally short period of time. Well done Willie. You'll have to bring her out to Jerry's run next spring. :-))

A nice finishing touch to the model would be 'Oor Wullie' sitting on deck on his upturned metal bucket (Tin Pail as we say here).(http://)

Hi John
and thanks for your "phenomenal" comment. Finishing the boat in a short time span is a little deceiving, some retired people can spend many hours per day in the workshop. :-)) :-)) If I get an invitation for Jerry's run next spring I will bring her along. ;) ;) :-))
Have a great week John and say hello to Jerry for me.

It's difficult to tell which skill to praise more -- the model-building craftsmanship, or the photography. Bravo all around.
Cheers,

Seen at IMBS 2009.

When 'Tug' Kenny said he had seen Oor Wullie at Warwick, I thought perhaps Wilhelm had popped over from Canada with her! - but thanks for the picture, Martin - it seems that if you build a Clyde Puffer and call it 'Oor Wullie', then a very high standard is expected, be it Northlight or Highlander! (I'm going to call mine Vickie!)

Hi Martin
and thanks for the picture of the Oor Wullie at the IMBS 2009. Whoever built this one did a super job. :-))
