Peter, I can't understand a word either, but he must have been able to speak once otherwise how did he become a famous American film star.
He seems to have got taller and younger looking since starring in Huckleberry Finn in 1939, I suppose its all that plastic surgery!

NZ 5 v AUS 0. that would be one for the record books ok2. second choice would be England in the final v who ever. one day it will happen guys.

Ooo I remember when England played Australia here in a 'friendly' game of football and Sven foolishly put out the 'kids' thinking the Socceroos would be a push over. Half time Australia were winning 2-0. So Sven put out the big guns for the second half. Australia won 3-1. The headlines in the papers the next day were hilarious! 'The Sun' was my favourite with the headline: SOCCERPOO!

Under Capello I think we've got the best chance we've had since Sir Bobby gave it a go. I'd still be (pleasantly) surprised if we get past the quarter finals though <:(

one thing about nz going to the cup is at least most people are realistic enough to know we arent going to get past the first round but i guess in England there would be mass sackings if you were out 1st round. (not unlike our all blacks who are tipped to win every world cup and never fail to disappoint.)

There is a big difference though. the All Blacks should win the World Cup at Rugby Union, but the English Football team simply is not good enough. Why we in England expect so much from such a small player pool I have no idea. If we get to the quarter finals it will be a real success in my book.. :-) :-)

It's probably because England is home to the best league in the world, albeit a league filled with international stars.

The problem with English football, as I see it, is the large number of "foreign" players in the premier league, including some quite handy Australians. If you look at the team line-ups of the big clubs, you are lucky to spot more than a couple of Englishmen, which means not enough local players are being put in front of the team selector, plus the locals aren't getting playing time in the top flight.
Footski, I've always been a big fan of Dutch football, but they seem to be the perennial under achievers, much like Spain. They promise much, but deliver little.

The problem with English football is too much money thrown at the Premier League which basically results in clubs buying (mainly foreign) talent rather than developing their own (like we used to in the old days).
Netherlands? Nah, they'll argue themselves out of it in the Quarters as usual.
Spain winners, Brazil runners up, England 3rd place I reckon
