Does someone have a picture of a Trent lifeboat from the stern? It would be perfect if it was out of water.
I need it, just to check waterline markings.

That's an interesting shot Richard as the markings on my photo clearly show only 14 and 12 and not 10 and 16. Looks like there may have been some variations as the boat in my picture shows no indication of undergoing repainting.

The first difference is. You pic Colin is of a Trent, Dicky's is of a Tamar.
I have however noticed a difference on bow markings from boat to boat. I think I have around 150 images of Trent's and on some the 12 is positioned just above the water line. On others the 12 is positioned half across the top of the waterline.

Different 'dry' weight of the boats?
We certainly had to take this in to account when loading aircraft of the same type.

Were the boats all of the same hull construction?

The lifeboat in the photo posted earlier is Tenbys' Tamar Class lifeboat, I should know I took it! :} Trents and Tamars are I'm pretty sure FRC construction,fibre re-enforced composite. I'm sure if that's wrong somebody will let me know. Why not contact RNLI engineering, (Mrs Durman last time I did) I am sure they could help or point in the right direction? Cheers, Dave :-))

It's done and dusted now. All I have to do is come up with something to make the black lines that are on the water line and apply them.

This is what I have used for the waterline and white depth markings. I'm at odds with myself whether to order some in black because all I need are 10 pieces 0.5mm thick by 2mm long 3 pieces o.5 thick 3mm long and I have no other builds planned that will use black. I'm really a grey boat builder, but thought I would do the Trent because I always fancied one from there conception. I may however do a 1:20 Tyne at some stage in the way distant future as I have a set of plans for one.

it`s only three quid mate and you can still use it in the grey stuff....

Trimline for the waterline...you just need to give a coat of satin varnish to take the gloss off of it.....
You can use for your T22 build :-))

Well I've just ordered some from Cornwall model boats. Hope it arrives the beginning of next week, (They are normally so fast, it's unbelievable).
Once that is on, then electrics through the week and hopefully I can have my first sea trials next weekend. :-))
