Title: Pre-made Tug superstructures
Post by: Bluechrisp on November 18, 2009, 11:50:37 pm
Hello all,

Just bought an old 70's half started tug, with no structure, is there any sites or contacts for pre formed/made superstructures. I'm nearly finishing a model.... {:-{ with scratch structure, didn't go to well. So would like to make this look good or even blinding.  :-)).

Any help will be greatly received.

Why don,t you make the superstructure out of card first, its easier to work with cheap, and if you make a pigs a**e of it,at least you,ve not wasted a load of plasti-card,then you can try again until you,ve got it looking good, and all you,ve got to remember is,as long as you,re happy with it, thats all that counts,
As for Aldi slug traps,I suspect there only good for the job they were made for, catching slugs and possibly other creeps!

Looks more like it could be used to make a machine-gun,post in a large diorama,or perhaps a bird feeder, {-)

You sometimes see tug wheelhouses offered on eBay. I've always wondered why anyone would make just the wheelhouses - now I know O0

...Hi Guys...

The hull looks like a Kingston Mouldings Dutch River Tug...

I have a couple of wee toy security towers from toy polce stations that would make a tug wheelhouse...
I got them at a local car boot sale...They could be adapted quite easily...

The Dimensiona are...Width 4.5"...x  3.5"...  (Could be turned either way to suit hull)  x 6" high...

If this suits you I could send you one...

...Best Regards...Norry...

Its a Damen stantug, MSC Taktow is a good example, but you will have to build it yourself, the plan is available from Kingston Mouldings.
