Title: Suitable hull for steam engine

Hello. I'm new to the forum. I recently bought some plans for the Clyde Puffer "Skylight" by J. Pottinger. The plans show the bread and butter method of building the hull. However I want to build the puffer with a steam engine. What would be the best material to build the hull from? Would it be best to make the hull as on the plans and use this as a mould for a fibreglass hull?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the design myself so I can't advise size-wise, however if you construct it bread and butter the use it for a GRP mould that should be ok.
