A Christmas Greeting (maybe)

So that I don't offend anyone, may I offer this politically-correct greeting:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious / secular persuasions and / or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all  .....  and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2010, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make this country great, (not to imply that this country is necessarily greater than any other country), and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform or sexual preference of the wish.
(By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms.  This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal.  It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting.  It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.  This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.) %% %% %% %% %% %% %%

Godo,

Thats very generous of you, the menu looks wonderful.

Unfortunately, this year I cannot come as I am working on xmas day, so, when your xmas lights are twinkling and your oven is cooking that brilliant food, just remember those at work, and in saying that, I include all the medical services, utilities, police and emergency services.

In particular, lets remember the sick, homeless and lonely.

Merry Xmas to all.

Hi Godo,
That's a very interesting menu.I am pleased to accept your kind invitation.
It will have to be a virtual appearance as BA are going on strike.
I am also expected to cook for 6 family members on Christmas Day.
We will be having:
Parmesan biscuits and smoked salmon canapes with Champagne.
Very slow (20 hours at 50C) roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, many vegetables and a rich wine jus.
Dessert will be a sticky toffee Christmas pudding with a seriously artery clogging sauce and cream.
All washed down with some fine white, red and sticky dessert wines.
If I survive this I will be off to support my local football team the next day. Then come home and  cook again.
It's great to have hobbies you enjoy.

As long suffering passengers on this scruffy old tub, we would all like to thank you for your patience....as we had to do for nearly a year. We all got to know each other quite well during the long wait, but poor Flora (being "self-employed, as it were) was left quite denuded (of cash, that is). The baby in the pram is now in school, the Norton motorbike is now a collectors item. Alas. the elderly lady and the gentleman reading his book both passed away on the maiden voyage. The NUFC supporter missed the trauma of the relegation, but ias apparently quite happy with the present situation. The "Glums" (bottom right) seperated when she wandered off to buy another packet of fags and couldn't find her way back to the landing stage. He smiles more nowadays. The "runner" with the 2 bags was arrested and given a caution for having only 20kg of something or other as it was for his personal (ab)use. Apart from that they are all doing well, and wish you all a very happy Xmas and a happy next years boating.

Well the elves have finished in my workshop so I can play with boats again and the turkey and final shopping was picked up yesterday.  All I have to do today is brave the sub zero temperatures and continually falling snow to go and pick up my Mother from her place in darkest North Yorkshire.  Fingers crossed I'll get home again!!

All the very best to all Mayhem members and thier families and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous and, most of all, Healthy New Year.
