Title: Xmas day sailing
Post by: Bee on December 25, 2009, 04:38:35 pm
Anyone go sailing on xmas day?
I tried two ponds but both frozen solid.  <:(
Had to just walk round the woods instead. Not fair. I'm not usually in range of flat water on this holiday and was looking forward to pootling along and maybe rescuing a few kids RTR presents that stop 10 ft from the bank.

Try Black Park north of Slough it has flowing water so should be free of ice.

Nope. That's were I ended  up. I thought it would be clear being  deep but there was just a little patch still clear around the stream entry and 10 million ducks were hogging that.

Someone else who uses the art of exxageration- welcome to the elite club of true exxagerationists who can see 30 ducks, say it was 10 million and get away with it. Look forward to joining you in a good exxageration at some time in the next 200 years.

Sadly my local pond was also frozen, which of course meant there were 3.25 million ducks ice skating (or maybe I miss counted)  :}
