Title: Removing varnish from ABS.
Post by: oldernovice on January 11, 2010, 12:27:29 pm
I have an old Graupner Commodore which appears to have been varnished %% %%, any advice on removing it?

I am assuming it is ABS as palastic weld does not touch it.

I am also assuming best adhesive for ABS to ABS and wood to ABs is two part epoxy, please correct if my assumption is in error.

Thanks in advance.

Jim

I,ve just been removing paint from ABS and i used Paint Devil which can be got in Tesco,s Asda, etc, its goo on paint grease and lubricants,i suppose it all depends on what kind of varnish is on the boat,
as for sticking wood to ABS,yes a two pack epoxy would do just fine,..5min perhaps
