What models do you use these on and do they give scale running? They seem rather cheap, what kind of running time do you get with which power supply?
I've been looking at these for an age now, but never taken the plunge.
Just want to know a little more about them. How widely are the used and for what?
Thanks Mayheme'rs.

'Nuff said, methinks. (Yeah, Yeah - here it comes - "I've got one and it's fine"....."I never use anything else"....)
The words "bargepole", "touch" and "wouldn't" come to mind IMHO.
Suit yourself. ;D

The motor you linked to Dave, has slots in back for fan.
The ones i have, dont have slots, are watercooled, and have been reliable so far.
But never used over 6v,maybe they have improved or maybe mine look like johnsons.
Surprisingly lots of power tools use them.
probably so they pack up and customer has to buy a new drill

The thing is, Johnson are a huge manufacturer, with a range of models to match, even within a given can size and voltage rating.
A couple of years ago, there were some on sale that were intended to spin VERY fast, but briefly. No doubt they also do at least one variant that is the absolute bees knees for any particular purpose. The only bit of description that really counts is the model number, and referring to the manufacturers websit to figure what it means.
