Hi Tomo, sorry I can't help with the hotel, but iWunderland is a fantastic place, your grandson will love it. You need all day to see it all, it's that big, and if you go downstairs to the Gothic Dungeon they do the best Spagetti Bolognase you have tasted and very reasonable too. Did you know that there is an ex Russian sub on display not far from Wunderland..Enjoy your visit, wish I was coming with you....Smudge.. <:(

Once you have the list of hotels from Google Earth/maps, maybe better see some reviews on www.tripadvisor.com.  May be a bit American tourist orientated but will keep you clear of the "not so nice" establishments !

I wanted to visit the Miniature Wunderland, but my travel time, when I was in Europe, would
have gotten me there, but would have left me stranded in Hamburg till the next day.  %)

what a brilliant exhibition -the Germans certainly go into modelmaking in  big way
A "must" if you are in that part of the world.

Seconded, I have been 3 times and its truely awesome.  When I took my son the first time I dont think his jaw left the floor throughout the hole trip!
