Title: Kitchen Bucket Gear...?...
Post by: norry on December 17, 2006, 10:10:39 pm
                           ...Hi Guys...

I am looking for information for a mate who is building his own catamaran....

Does anyone have any information on what he thinks is called Kitchen Bucket Gear...

This is the gear that was used on Picket Boats & some Naval Pinnace Boats for Astern Motion...
It is a type of Clamshell that acts like a Kort Nozzle when going Ahead but is closed around the back of the prop to deflect the thriust back under the boat to give the boat Astern effects...

This gear might have been used on other boats as well...

Any pictures or diagrams would be great...

                     ...Thanks In Advance...Norry...

Chris Brown Light Engineering in Bridgend does, or used to, do a model-sized Kitchen rudder.
