As the MFA gearbox \ motor combination is, I think, noisey, Im considering fitting one of the above motor and belt drive combinations to the Enoy tug Im building.
But, how do you fix the above into the hull!? {:-{ I cant tell from the pic above whether the motor mounting plate is wide enough to fit bearers underneath without fouling the shaft. I'd guess someone must have fitted these before in something like an Envoy. Soooooooo, please, please tell me how you fix it in the bottom of the hull.
A pic or diagram would be nice :-))

Have a look here - it's the mount at the top.

The bearers are fitted ahead of, and to each side of the prop shaft. The mount straddles them. The drive-shaft under the mount is connected to the prop shaft with the usual UJ coupling.
BTW you won't need an 850 - the 800 is plenty on a belt drive (and you'll find that a 900 will fit the same mount).

Bob thats the smaller one the bearing blocks are quite big on the big one, but it's the same idea .by the way when you get it going have the belt quite slack it will be quieter and wont heat the motor front bearings

I set them up with an ammeter.
Usually when the amps drop so does the sound level.
An 800 size motor on a g/box is rather overkill on an envoy.

Hi I fitted two of these units into my Flying Spindrift. There is plenty of room under the bed plate to fit bearers.

Why's that Bob? The MFA gearbox on the 919D is just too noisey. I've got two in my Drumbeat and the sound of them isnt nice imo. MSW even say you can fit a 900 in an Envoy if you want.
