Title: Wood to use ?
Post by: tomo55 on March 11, 2010, 11:05:15 am
What wood should I use as a under deck frame on a TID tug.  Ive got hard wood and 1/4 sq balsa from aero modeling.
The balsa takes the shape of the hull better and easier but the hard wood is obviously stronger.
It is a fibre glass hull.
Also what thickness of wood should I use for the deck?
Advise please.

Thanks for that,Thats a nice build GGeorge is doing.
This is my first non kit model boat so a lot of head scratching and of course tea drinking.
Ive done the underdeck frame work now I went for the hardwood option seems sturdy enough.Try fitting the deck soon.
