i all.
just tried to send a 25kg parcel with parcels2go and i can tell you its no longer a cheap way of sending.
they even gave me a 25% discount code that will not work on any of there options i needed.
anyway £94 was the cheapest they can come up with, was never more the £55 in the past.
so its time to shop around again.

Try Interparcel Dave. It sounds like you are sending overseas at that price .

That's not at all bad. We've just sent a 5kg parcel to Indonesia via UPS. £117.

What were the dimensions Elvis?
This can have a big impact on cost with any carrier if you exceed certain dimensions.

And what was the destination?

I have always found Parcels to go the cheapest for UK internal posting. But I have never sent anything oversized.

My standard benchmark of 15kg 1mx300x300 has actually gone down in price from £6.99 to £5.99 not that HDNL are listed.

Are you sure you did not accidentally put 250kg or summat??????????????

I sent 2 tool chests full of tools from essex to finland a few months back and that only cost 90 quid and they were 60 odd kilos each

And I did use parcels to go

hi there.
no only put in 25kg.
just tried again and i can send a parcel to the abroad for nearly the same price.
called them and the best price they can come up with is £74.
so i have got a local firm, upto 40kg £32 on a 3 day.

I put the dimensions you gave and the weight onto the Websites sheet, and back came the answer of £14.99
The most expensive option was by pallet delivery, but that allows you upto 500kg
The next most expensive was only £30.49 for a Saturday a.m. delivery.

£14.99 base price no compensation,
then there is compensation cover,dimensions surcharge,vat. only when you get to paying does it show the true price.
then you get £74 also now and then you get a fuel surcharge.
now local delivery firm for me every time.

Hi Elvis

I have never seen a need for  compensation cover.

The reason is that I don't believe I would ever get full comp anyhow. And if you send regular there is only perhaps a 1-2% risk. But a 500% increase in cost that would outweigh any payout.

Any damage is always subjective, and a total loss (as in 'we lost your parcel') is almost unheard of.

But if your local firm gives you what you need - go for it  :-)) :-))

hi there.
only reason i insure the parcel is i get a lot of my payments by paypal and if there is a problem paypal always seem to go on the side of the buyer.
also the way they work now is they pay the money back and then claim it back from you, the only way to protect youself is to send fully insured.
