Very interesting program on TV at the moment:
Industrial Revelations
Steam on the Water Mark Williams travels around Scotland on a steam-driven Clyde puffer VIC 32
to investigate how boats were improved during the Industrial Revolution
QUEST 2:00pm-2:30pm (30 minutes) Mon 5 Apr

Bit late to tell us Martin!
Any idea if there will be a repeat?

Had a look at the schedule and found out they feature a Ship every night at 2300 hrs. The Queen Mary is featured on Thursday and the Maersk on Saturday.

This Friday at 2pm looks promising. Discovery Knowledge channel. (217 on Virgin but see http://uk-tv-guide.com/programme-details/Discovery+Knowledge/9+April+2010/13%3A00/Industrial+Revelations/History+Documentary/ )
Interestingly, in the Vic 32 newsletter, Nick Walker talks of being filmed on board by a BBC team last summer with a view to being included in one of their future "Coast" episodes. I have been watching out for this.
Thanks for the info. Martin. (I assume Quest is a Freeview channel.)

Just watched the programme: Interesting and very well presented. Excellent shots of the Vic 32 - brought back happy memories of stoking the boiler (about fifteen years ago)! The engineer at the time was a very amusing New Zealander called Keith. I think the current one is his brother.
Thanks again, Martin, for drawing this to our attention.
