Colwyn Bay M.B.C. has some 60 members and is fortunate in having excellent 2 sailing lakes just a minute away from
junction 22 on the A55, North Wales Expressway. Members of other Clubs visiting the area are always welcome to drop in to see us.
Our main sailing venue is the Model Boating Lake behind the Civic Centre, Abergele Road, Colwyn Bay. (Location Map = http://www.colwynbaymbc.co.uk/map.html ) This lake is open from March to November seven days a week, but the Club normally meets here on Sundays from 10.30a.m. The larger boating lake in Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay is available to us all year round..
Colwyn Bay Model Boat Club also meets at Colwyn Sea Sports, 95 the Promenade, Rhos-on-Sea, Colwyn Bay, North Wales on the first Friday of the month at 7.30p.m. where we have speakers and film shows, or evenings devoted to Model Building.
As well as free sailing sessions our activities include Scale Steering competitions, Club 500 racing and Tug Towing.

A final reminder that the Regatta is on Sunday 24th July, 2011 and everyone is welcome to come along, together as a Club, or as an individual and of course your families are welcome too.
Entry and parking is FREE :} and we could not be easier to find. Leave the A55 at junction 22 ( Old Colwyn ) and follow our signposts for about 500 yards
Bring along some boats and they can join our static displays and there is plenty of opportunity for you to sail on the lake.
A number of Clubs are attending and Steamboatphil has promised to bring some steam boats too ( certified steam boats are most welcome to sail with us )
There will be the usual auction of model boats and bits and pieces and our grand raffle too.
Traders include such favourites as Mark's Model Bits, Mobile Marine Models, Component Shop and Model Boat Bits.
Contact details and a location map is available from our website www.colwynbaymbc.co.uk

Last Sunday's Regatta was a huge success and attracted more visitors than ever before.
Our local newspaper, The North Wales Weekly News, kindly attended to take photographs and video footage, part of their video can be viewed on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyesB4IyLsg&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL)
Everyone at the regatta was devastated when a museum quality boat belonging to Stavros was destroyed when it fell to the ground from a display stand in his marquee.
