Title: Where are the good model shops in north kent ????
Post by: PETER G. on April 13, 2010, 06:41:00 pm
Hi all, I am refitting a scratch built model of the Plaudit. Last weekend I went to a large model shop about 5 miles from me in Northfleet Kent. I went up to the counter and asked if they have a 545 sized motor suitable for a boat. This is how the conversation went.
Na mate, best to get one online. I then asked do you have a colour chart for humbrol paints. Na mate its all online. Then I asked do you have any boat fittings. Na mate, best to get them on ebay....I then left the shop, which was large and packed with racks of goodies for planes and cars from what I could see. But what about boat parts I ask. Is there any good shops about. I want to look at what I'm buying and pay with cash. I dont want to get everything "online". Am I strange?..........HELP !

Thanks, yes I do know this one. Had a look some years ago when I went to the steam and transport show. Forgot all about it. I'll go and see what they have this weekend.

Paid a visit to the model shop in Chatham Dockyard today. I would recommend it to everyone. Had every thing I needed for the refit of my Plaudit tug model.....EXCELLENT !
