Title: Brushless Motors

Evening  Mathemer's, a small bit of advise please.

I am upgrading a small RTR powerboat for my kids to use but after cooking it want to upgrade to fully proportional power with a rudder.

The motors are/were mass produced 380's, what is the equivilent in brushless please. I want as fast as i can get, 2 of.

Sizes are 27mm by 38mm with a 2mm drive.

About the equivilent you should have a go to your local modelshop. But taking two of them will make it a bit more expensive, as you can not connect two brushless motors to one speed-controler! You need one speed controler per motor. Are you sure it`s worth it?

Thanks Jorg, i did not now that perhaps i will look at some quality 380's or bite the bullit and fit a 600 on an out drive leg?

How about two Graupner Speed 600 Eco. I know out of experience that they will blast an boat with 3´ length and 2,5 Kg weight really over the water....

Thanks again, i was looking at it again last night and managed to find 1x600 eco and 2x600's in a drawer with brackets so i think i will have a bash at them tonight. Also found a 2 channel receiver and esc so all i need is a rudder and a bit of paint and hope to have a flying machine and a rescue boat for my new ic C1-Cat.

I will post some pictures later.

As  promised some hairbrained made ideas just have to be done!

Suspect that lead acid on the bench might be a tad too big  ;D.

Hi all,

Just finished modifying a cheap 11 quid RTR from you know where.

Found a few odds and sods lying around and just pooped them in. Two Graupner 600's, a rudder, esc and a new paint job.

Tried it in the bath, much to the wife's disgust, rooster tail about five foot high and water everywhere.

Should make a nice toy for the kids and a recovery boat for my new Kyosho C1 ic Cat.

Off to test her in the local village pond at the weekend.

 ;D ... hope that the result will be the same on the pond as it sounds in the bathtube...- would like to know how it performed.
