Hi everyone I'm currently building a bait boat but am unsure wether to use a mixer to control each engine or use rudders. I am trying to build it as cheap as possible.
The boat will be quite large and I'm wondering which will be best? This is my first boat build so any help is very welcome. Cheers in advance

The cheapest way is a single speed controller and rudders.

The cheaper the better really for me! Will it reverse ok with propellers and rudders? Forgive my stupidity but I have never used a remote controlled boat before

Yes.
All the electronics you will need will be 1 Electronic Speed Controller for both motors.
Check out the ACTion website for wiring arrangements and 1 servo for steering (supplied with radio gear or about £6 or less)
