hi there just got plan of john king scale half in to foot length 29in 9in beam 5in draft what motor and prop should i use i am new to boat modeling so keep it simple please thanks Larry.

Does the plan have a view of the the propeller ? The scale looks to be 1:24, maybe you could measure it and it might give you a guide. I would estimate that is around 35-45mm.

Hi Larry,
it depends really what you intend to do with the model,wheather you intend just to use it for cruising around your local pond or wheather you intend to use it for tug towing? and also what size and type of battery you are going to use.If you just want to cruise it around you could just put a small MFA 400 motor in it which will run on anything from 4.8-15 volt but with a smallish prop about 30-35 mm,But if you want to use it for towing then you will need a high torque or 550 geared motor with something like a 2-1 redunction gearbox on it and a large 3 or 4 flat bladed prop around 45-55 mm this will be governed by the amount of space you have and these are usually run on 12 volt

hi on the water for test .thanks to all for info on motors and props ,as a new boy to boat models i find mayhem a better source than boat mags,i am off to wemouth sunday so i may pick the up moter and prop there cheers larry.

NO IT,S VICTORIA PARK BATH ITS THE SMALL POND THAT ONLY GETS A WATER CHANGE WHEN IT RAINS OR THE LARGE LAKE OVER FLOWS O0 CHEERS LARRY.

you live nearby viki park then ? sorry i asumed that as your listed as being in bristol you were sailing on one of the two common park lakes there ?

hi ken info MFA 919 re 540/1motor running on 12 volt ... turning a 70mm brass 3 blade Mk troniks 20 amp SEC ...Larry :-))
