Title: First Launch of my Severn

Had the 1:16th Severn on the water last nigtht for the first time.

Looks ok?
Have a small qauntity of water coming in throught the shaft, i have lithium grease but there is still a small amount coming in.
Any ideas?

Looks great!

Re water leak. Have you checked there is the minumum of clearance between the prop, lock nut, thrust washer & stuffing tube?

Hi Martin,

i'll try and reduce the clearance and see if it heps, batteries on charge at the moment so will find out tommorrow if the weather is ok.

Have you checked the rudder tubes/hull flanges since they do take the full force of the prop wash, especially at speed. Just a thought.  :-)

I have fitted a tight fitting washer to the shaft so that it rests on the top of the rudder blade.  This then semi seals the tube containing the grease.

Looks good, what motors and batteries are you using?
