Any got any decent pics of an Egrete....the model will be fine and Ive seen some on the Mayhem, but im also looking for pics of the real rhine pusher or her sisters, stork etc?

Any help?

There was a web page dedicated to these a while back [years], I seem to have lost it during one of my wipe-outs,
It was done by a ?fifth form education project for a German colledge?

I got some feedback from the teacher (in English) But alas cannot even think further than that present, I may come back on this one. Good luck with it.

       The plans are from model boats mag.  the scale is about 1/32nd.

 I have the plan for the same tug out of the Model Boats mag, if I remember right its by Glyn Guest, just like to say thats a cracking job you,ve done on that one, great stuff.

i,m thinking of making one like that how fast to thees type of models go i want a speed of about a fast walk.

Its not a fast boat and being flat fronted [tech term] it ploughs through the water and takes a bit of control to keep a straight line if going too fast, and it turns in its own length without bow thrusters.

[Like a snow plough]

If I was to build another I would go for 24th scale it don't take up much boot space.

Hi all I think Egrete is based on one of the Danube / Rhine type  pusher tugs.  I remember seeing detailed drwings of a similar one in Model Shipwright some years ago.  I am looking at some old M.S's right now will let you know if I find her.

Hi all, I found the article in Model.Shipwright. I am afraid it is a while back, Dec. 1977.  Boat by name is Hippolyte Bloch, another name to check out is Pierre Brouse.
Both are Rhine pusher tugs.  Article written by James Pottinger, who I think is on another thread and interested in any working models made to his plans.  So he may be able to help.

what sort of scale would a one between 4ft and 5ft be ?

Hi, a quick measurement of H. Bloch suggests a boat length of 40 feet.  So 4 feet would be 1:10 scale.

5 feet is going to be heavy, a lot of ballast to go in that tug
