My Favourite Topic: TonyH for Fat pointy thing! - Arquebuse class French destroyer

..... and also putting on a live demonstration over the Wicksteed weekend ... by ramming (now infamous) roaming lighthouse!

The Over Optamistic Award: (aka: burst steam pipe award!) Flashtwo
For his " winter's secret project...not only flash steam powered, but also jet propelled ... the gas cylinder is inverted
and the liquid butane/propane mix passes through a manually operated isolation valve and then a servo-controlled valve.
The fuel then passes along a 400mm length of copper pipe before entering a fuel pre-heater that is heated by the exhaust
gases of the boiler, i.e. NO direct heating by a flame is involved. The boat also has a novel form of directional control which
many will find interesting. Effectively it is a boat with no propeller nor rudder!

Notice the almost total lack of bow wave!

Awards also to all you Mayhemers that have posted on here throughout the year. :-))
Yours sincerely,
Martin - Admin :-)

Thankyou Martin, I ignored the suggestions on where to put it and it has pride of place on the mantlepiece. :-))

Cheers Martin!
Any chance of a steering course on the BIG lake next year - might suit the turning circle a bit more.

Just to put some names to the faces of the two Wicksteed Park Model Boat club winners,
The owner and builder of the Sea Queen is Dennis Hubble and with the Maggie M is Dave Mears again the owner and builder.
