Hi, I recently got this from ebay as a pressy from my dear bride. It is an MFA Sesqui with a nice outboard.
I looked up MFA but they don't mention it or the motor.
I thought it was a vac-formed hull, but I'm amazed to see it's actually a very fine, 1mm thick GRP moulding of the highest quality and very light.
The o/b motor has no markings on it at all but appears to be very well made. It has a geared power head using spurs and a geared (bevels?) leg.
I show it as it came.
Any help/recollections would be gratefully received. It has a 50 Amp ESC apparently but I haven't hoiked that out yet.

I got 1 of them too. I believe Its a Nick Rees design from the late 70's which is probably why you cant find it on the MFA site. it was originally designed for sub surface drive in the 2 kg fast electric class. To be honest they weren't that successful as the hulls were prone to porpoising & proved hard to set up. Superbly made grp hulls though Thats not to say they perform badly, just there were more competative hulls available at the time.
I've never seen one with an outboard before & I am not familiar with that outboard either. I do wonder if the outboard might actually run the hull better than a subsurface drive, it will be interesting to see.
I kept mine because it was GRP & have an Enya 09 engine that I always meant to try in it, but never got round to it.

Hi Knoby, thanks for the info.
I thought it looked a bit FE, but I've never been a fan of that so didn't know. Interesting about the o/b not being intended. I must get some batteries and try it out. The big paddling pool's coming out today for the grandchildren!
Failing that it came with expensive ESC, radio gear and that cute outboard so is good value. I might try veneering the hull top to make it look like an old kneeler hydro. Just a scale switch really. But the madonna with the big boobies will have to go, she's way too heavy!
