Title: Motor size and type advice needed

Im building a 32" model of my favorite tv boat ever, Thunder from Thunder in Paradice.
the only problem is I have no idea what size or type of motor I should go for, I'm thinking brushless as I would like the speed but as I said I could use a little info before I purchace  :-)
Also what prop angle would yoy go for?

Very slick, mate. Can't help with the motor advice but I would remark that you'll need spray rails along the chine line to get the Thunder onto the plane and keep it there. Ref angle of prop, I reckon the shallower the better.

He needs strakes on the bottom to create lift ok2.Id also make it surface drive

so should the under side look pritty much the same as the boat above?
what advantages would a surface prop give?

Yep - the two along the chine are particularly important. Without these the water will flow up the sides of the hull at speed and create too much drag for the thing to rise onto the plane. I guess one man's spray rail is another man's strake, eh?

The Strake is the one on the bottom either side of the keel,most vees have them to create lift.The one in my pic is a deep vee i built a few years back,some hulls have strakes at the rear like that one some have 2 either side of the keel as on my apache hulls but they stop short of the transom,i went all the way back on that one because i was using a low powered motor.If i were you i would maybe try it as it is before painting it then if you feel the strakes would help you can add those then paint her up after testing.A surface prop will be faster for sureas all the thrust goes back instead of down at an angle and using todays flex setups theyre pretty simple to set up.

does the prop have to be at 90deg to the hull?
what sort of distanse from the hull should the prop be at?

If you go with standard surface strut setup i think for that size hull its about 3",i dont run electric hulls so maybe someone else can help with that,you can also get steerable outdrives .Heres a typical setup for a fast mono,something similar might work for yours.
