Another couple of shots of a superb example of the same model made by our very own Stan. This is a 20 year old version, so Stan must have built it when he was about 50!! {-)
As for seeing an eight foot one, any model is well worth putting on display at a show as long as you are ready for the challenges with handling such a large object and can put it on a table that will be strong enough to support it. You wouldn't need RC though, you could steer it from inside!

could drive it from in side ha ha but it will be r/c some how i'll build it out of ply so it should be pretty simple hull wise

Wasn't that featured in the Model Boat artical to do with weathering, pretty sure it's the same boat?
Lovely looking model which will keep any eye busy soaking up all that small detail :-)

Hi Voyager.
The Lobster Boat featured in Model Boats was built by me in 1989 and still going strong. I have just added some more detail to it and given below the waterline a fresh coat of paint also. The deck planking and and some of the cabin wood is now getting some small splits appearing but I have no intention of filling them it looks natural. The kit was bought in Florida. Made by Midwest Models at a scale of 1/12 ideal for dolls house fittings. Crew figures came from Tamiya very rare now I understand.
