Does everyone just junk their blown ESC's or does someone know of a firm that can repair them in the UK?

No specific make but with some of them costing 100+ I was just wondering.

yes but if you give us an idea of the make we may be able to tell you who can fix them, most UK built ones have a good service available to repair them. some of the American ones do an exchange at a fixed price, if they are Chinese just bin em.

Some ESCs are encapsulated with resin.  This means that there is nothing repairable since gaining access basically destroys the rest of the device.  In practice, reading the instructions and avoiding user error, like connecting the battery back to front*, they are pretty bullet proof.
Others (primarily those also available as kits) are repairable.

* dont ask  :embarrassed:
