Before i refit my old Smit London out would i be correct in assuming that the above electronics are generally considered to be the best suited.

The fact that ACTion Electronics are Forum sponsors does not necessarily dictate whether their gear is the most suitable or not. However, the fact that proprietor Dave Milbourn is an active member of this forum, and is ever ready, and always willing to give assistance when required, means a great deal when choosing suitable electronics for your model. His wiring diagrams are miniature masterpieces, and worth their weight in gold when it comes time to wire up all that electronic wizardry  :-)).

Before you ask, yes, I am a very satisfied user of some of Dave's products, and I had to buy them, just like everyone else  O0  {-)

I haven't been a customer, YET, but given what I have read and heard of FLJ's after sales support, and suport via this website, I would have no hesitation in using his products.
There is also the fact that he has spent many years in the modelling industry, before becoming the man behind Action.

I have no connection with Dave, (FLJ), or the company, but plan to soon become one of his ' staisfied customers '.

I bought a speed controller after trying a couple of others first. Action Electronics continue to operate down to about 2 volts rather than the 5-6 volts of others. With a boat you can feel the loss of voltage performance so do not need the cut out that the airplane ones have.

Daves gear is excellent as is the personal service I have it in several of my boats and I havent found better.

Dave also has considerable experience in model boat design so he knows what is required.

I am not related, just a member of the fan club. :-))

I don't actually recall mentioning it, mon petit choux. Martin asked me to hold it up for a photo and, being a helpful and obliging sort of soul, I simply obliged.
Would you like to see a photo of it sans dressing?   :o

No Dicky, I am not implying that at all - i.e. that Dave steals from his own till - what I am implying is that the speed of the drawer on the till has been increased so that it opens and closes in a split second doesnt it Liz and Dave  :} :} :} this was modified so that when Steamboat Phil passed his laminated £20 over at the next show, it could be safely housed in the till drawer without it escaping.   Did you ever manage to get that £20 off Steamboat Phil  :-)) :-))

aye

I have been sworn to secrecy that Dave is intending another career as a Russ Conway impersonator, and this is the first step on the downward slide.
The till was supplied by the same company that provided the "Open all hours" till, which is an alternative explanation.

While at the CADMA show I got one of is "servo swingers".  A magic piece of kit, now I can play with my servos and ESCs and such without trying to remember where I hid my transmitter, or, having found it, remembering to switch the dumn thing off after use and before taking it to the pond.  I've been meaning to get one  or make one for ages.  Having got one for less than the parts would have cost from one of the major retail parts suppliers, I reckon that every home should have one.  Gather round and contribute to Daves Savlon fund.
