Post by: brianc on July 06, 2010, 12:45:15 AM
Could any of you very knowledgeable gentlemen advise me on what motor would suit this tug.
I`m a novice at anything tug orientated but I intend to use her for this tug towing lark that all the guy`s at the club are raving about  %)
Any advice will be gratefuly received :-))
Cheers guys.

Bri,
If you are using a scale prop you will only need a max of 4000 rpm.
The geared MFA 500, 6:1 should provide this but rather noisy.
Up in Glasgow there used to be Hi Tork motors which would run on 4000 rpm on 12 volts, ideal motor.

Cheers Bob.
we use these motors for our hands-on springers in the club, did`nt even think of putting one of those in the Cruiser.
