Title: THE HYDRA...RACE BOAT FROM THERMOCOL AND PAPER
Post by: rathikrishna on August 06, 2010, 06:12:10 am
its my second speed model.its a double hulled one.it works nicely, but motor blows out after a long drive.i use a 12 volt Ni Mh battery pack, rated at 3000 Ma.so i need only a 5 volts, to run it.so i use a 7805 voltage regulator IC, with it and with this set up it will run over an hour, but i have to give intervals after a 10 minute ride...least for a two or three minutes.if not the small motor will heated up and at last it blows off...even though it works nicely...all super structure came from thick drawing paper, and radio, took from a toy car,its steering mechanism took from a CD lens drive mechanism.

Absolutely brilliant - a job very well done.
That's truly the spirit of modelling.
Would like to see more of your models
cheers
